Theft of $20,000 Diamond Ring from Kay's Jewelers

On May 26, 2010 a young man entered Kay’s Jewelers and asked to see the store’s biggest stone. He was acting very suspicious, looking around the store, talking and texting on his phone. The most curious part was that he was not interested in the carat size, setting or cut; only that it be the largest stone in the store. He was shown several rings and when shown a 2.5 carat ring worth $20,000 he grabbed it from the associates hand, ran from the store and left through Dillards. He is described as a black male, 20 – 25 years, 5’10’-5’11”, 150-155 lbs., short black hair and brown eyes. If you recognize him from his picture or have any information concerning this theft, please contact Det. Kearny at 913 344-8726.
