Office Building Theft at College and Metcalf

Over the past several weeks a man, sometimes in the company of a 10-14 year old boy, has entered office buildings in the College Blvd and Metcalf business corridor. The man cruises the building’s hallway looking for office suites with unoccupied reception areas and desks. When he finds the unoccupied desks he steals items of value such a lap top computers, hard drives and credit cards. On several occasions the man has been confronted by employees. When this happens he makes excuses as to why he is in the office. At one confrontation the suspect told an employee the boy with him was “looking for his mother.”

The adult is described as a white male, 5’ 6” to 5’ 8”, with tattoos on his forearms and “bad teeth”. The juvenile in his company is a white male, age 10 to 14 years old, lanky build with blond hair. Reports indicate two vehicles may be involved. One is gold Chevrolet Trailblazer with wires hanging from the back and missing a left rear hub cap. The other vehicle is a burgundy older model extended cab GMC pickup truck.

To reduce the opportunity for these crimes to happen it is best not the leave valuable items in open view in reception areas. Brief cases, lap top computers, and purses are prime targets and should be secured or locked away.

Anyone one with information on this suspect or theses crimes is asked to contact the Police Department at 913-344-8750.
