Interesting Theft Cases

Who would want to steal scrap car batteries? The answer is at least one man and most likely two of his accomplices. Since August of this year two Overland Park Wal-Marts and one Sam’s Club have been the victims of used battery thefts. The thieves cut the locks on outside storage cages and remove the batteries which can sell for about $9.00 each. So far the losses have amounted to almost $1,000.00. Two other cities have also reported similar crimes.

The suspect(s) are described as white males, between 30 and 40, and they usually wear baseball caps. The suspects were seen driving a white or silver Buick.

Anyone with information on these crimes is asked to call the Investigations Division’s 24/7 recorded telephone line at 913-344-8750.
