On Thursday, November 18, 2010, Officers from the Community Oriented Policing and Problem Solving Unit (COPPS) presented kids from the Timberland Creek Homes area with footballs, soccer and basketballs. The COPPS Officers learned from the Timberland Creek Homes Area President, Joanne Boyd, that neighborhood children were playing in a vacant lot but did not have any sports equipment to play with. Her concerns and information concerned the COPPS Officers and they wanted to do something to help. They obtained permission to purchase the needed items. At about 3:15 pm on Thursday in a vacant lot where the neighborhood kids play, the officers gave the equipment to the children.
