Overland Park Resident Helps Police Make DUI Arrest

On 4/6/11 at approximately 8:00 p.m. an Overland Park resident reported what she believed to be an intoxicated driver. The caller was able to provide the license plate information along with a description of the vehicle.

Overland Park dispatchers quickly obtained the registration information and broadcast it to the Officers in the field. Officers responded to an address in the 8700 block of Santa Fe which was associated to the registered owner of the vehicle. The vehicle and driver were located at the address.

Officers contacted the driver and conducted an investigation. After the investigation at the scene was completed, the driver was taken into custody for DUI.

This is a great example of teamwork between the Police Department and the citizens we serve. Keeping our community safe is a joint effort.
