91st Street Bridge Repair Project Underway
There will also be potential lane closures on US 69 for removal and replacement of the existing bridge deck. The demolition plan for the bridge deck has not been finalized. We will provide advance notification under separate cover of these lane closures once the schedule has been determined.
Advance message boards will alert drivers to the bridge closure. Drivers should expect major delays during the peak hours and must use alternate routes. Updated daily traffic information for this project can be viewed online at: www.ksdot.org/kcmetro/laneclose.asp.
Comanche Construction Inc. (Shawnee Mission, KS) is the primary contractor on this $715,437 bridge repair project. The bridge repair project is scheduled to be completed by mid-October 2012, weather permitting.
This project is funded by T-WORKS, the transportation program passed by the Kansas Legislature in May 2010. Find out more about this and other T-WORKS projects at: http://kdotapp.ksdot.org/TWorks/.
The Kansas Department of Transportation urges all motorists to be alert, obey the warning signs, and “Give ‘Em a Brake!” when approaching and driving through the project work zone.
