National Bike to Work Week

The week of May 14th thru May 18th is designated as National Bike to Work Week. The City of Overland Park has several activities planned to encourage its employees and residents to take advantage of this opportunity. For more information on these activities, please visit the following link:


The City of Overland Park recognizes that the bicycle is a legitimate vehicle and an integral part of the transportation system. It also strives to be a bicycle friendly community by encouraging the use of bicycles as a means of transportation within the City.

Traffic safety is a major priority for the City and we want to make sure everyone is safe on our roadways while bicycling, walking and driving.

The Overland Park Police Department averages 20-25 accident reports per year involving bicycles. In Kansas, bicyclists are required to follow the same rules of the road as motorists. For more information about bicycling laws in Kansas, check out the following website:
