Overland Park Makes List of Annual "Allstate America's Best Drivers Report™."

Yesterday, the Allstate insurance company released its eighth annual list of the states with the best drivers. The report ranks the top 200 largest cities in the U.S. based upon claims data.

Overland Park ranked #29 on that list and Allstate says residents go an average of 11.3 years without an accident, which is 11.4% percent longer than the national average.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, car crash fatalities are at the lowest level they've been since 1949, but still average more than 32,000 every year. Last year we came in at #34 and the average years between accidents was at 10.8.

This confirms our belief that we have people who drive their vehicles in a safe and responsible manner. While the results show we’ve made definitive progress over the last few years, the police department will continue to do its part to make the roadways of Overland Park as safe as they can be.
