Officers were dispatched in the early morning hours of January 5, 2013, regarding a strange visitor to the neighborhood just south of W 119th and Westgate. Upon arrival, they found a 300 pound cement gorilla next to the park gazebo. The gorilla was too heavy for officers to move, so a tow truck with a crane was ordered to remove the interloper. Officers checked with neighbors in the area and were unable to locate anyone who was missing a cement gorilla. If you know anyone who might be missing a gorilla, please call the Overland Park Police Department at 913-895-6300.
