Brazen Burglar Takes His Time

Right around midnight on June 25, 2013, a burglar cut through a chain link fence at a local equipment rental business in the 15200 block of Metcalf Avenue.  The suspect then spent nearly two hours selecting and loading equipment from the rental lot onto a truck and trailer located in the same lot.  The truck and trailer left northbound on Metcalf Avenue.

Most burglars are in and out of a business or home very quickly to avoid getting caught.  This one, on the other hand, appeared to think he was invisible.  Well, he wasn’t.  The business was equipped with video surveillance cameras.  Still photos of the suspect and items taken are shown below.

The suspect is a white or Hispanic male wearing a blue t-shirt and blue jeans.  The suspect also was wearing gloves.

The U-haul truck that was previously stolen from another business was a box truck with a “New Brunswick” graphic on the side of it.  We have included a copy of the graphic.

Officers and detectives are now starting to follow up on this case but, if you know anything about it, you are asked to contact the TIPS HOTLINE at 816-474-TIPS or the Overland Park Police at 913-344-8750.
