Old Glory’s MIA

All crimes are hurtful to the victims involved, but some really offend our collective sense of human decency.  A theft report such as the one officers responded to on June 15th, 2013, is one of those that leaves a mourning community wondering about its fellow man.

That day, one of our Overland Park officers responded to the 8800 block of 148th Terrace in reference to stolen American flags.  Three neighbors in the area all displayed flags outside their home to honor the memory of fallen soldier Lt. Justin Sisson, who was killed recently in Afghanistan.  They reported that between the hours of 11:45 pm on June 14th and 9:00 am on June 15th someone took the flags from the front of their homes.

The investigation continues to find the person or persons responsible.  If you have any information please contact the Overland Park Police.
