Yesterday three officers with the Overland Park Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit conducted another Driver Awareness Campaign. This campaign was conducted for six hours. The officers targeted the majority of their efforts on some of the city’s top high accident locations and traffic complaint areas. A total of 47 vehicles were stopped and 48 tickets were issued.
The Traffic Safety Unit regularly conducts High Visibility Traffic Enforcement projects. The primary goals of these monthly enforcement initiatives are to reduce motor vehicle collisions through selective enforcement, education and deterrence.
