Overland Park Police are Investigating an Overnight Shooting That Injures a Child

An eight year-old boy was struck last night after someone opened fire on a home in the 10000 block of Kessler Street.

 The drive-by shooting occurred around 11:45 P.M. last night. Witnesses say they observed a dark colored sedan leaving the area at a high rate of speed.

 The child that was struck has non life-threatening injuries and has been taken to an area hospital for treatment. The eight year-old lived at the residence with an adult female and two other children under the age of eight.

 Overland Park Police Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances of this crime and do not have a suspect in custody.
